Craniosacral Therapy for Performers & Creatives

Before coming to Craniosacral Therapy I had many colourful and creative years as a dance artist. It was through an injury whilst working as a dancer that I stumbled across craniosacral therapy and quickly felt the benefits. The support enhanced not just my physical health, but also my creative practice and understanding of the body in which I worked. Receiving regular craniosacral therapy soon became an integral part of artistic upkeep and continues to be to this day.

Feeling the benefits of this work first hand has made me increasingly passionate about sharing it with fellow performers and creatives. Supporting individuals in their work, life and creative pursuits is one of my greatest pleasures as a practitioner.

My Offering

For most performers, artists and creatives our work is a calling. A dedicated and passionate pursuit of creativity, discovery and refinement- the honing of oneself and our art. A joy more often then not but also demanding; physically, mentally and emotionally. For many our body is our work, our tool and our expression. How then can we look after it?

Despite best intentions I have seen and experienced first hand, how easy and often unnoticed we can push our bodies and creativity to a point of exhaustion and overwhelm. It can be a tricky space to navigate- a careful balance of energy in and energy out, pursuit and nourishment. The latter I find can often go overlooked, something to come back to when things start to go awry. When we burn out?

Having walked the path of ‘pushing through’, ‘resilience’, ‘drive’, ’I’ll rest when…’ and  ‘this is just how it is,’ I now invite another paradigm.

What if we see the care of our body, mind and being as an integral part of our artistic practice? A deep dive into understanding ourself, as individuals and as creatives? In getting to know our body; its tissues, stories, quirks, patterns and processes, we can in turn become more open and available- attuned to its needs and potential. A body & mind that feels connected and intuitive, free to express and create.

Imagine, a dancer knowledgable about the sensuous landscape of their body, able to move and glide freely. An actor so aware of oneself that character choices become limitless and dynamic. A musician or singer that is open and available, a vessel for their music to flow through. An artist with a sharp mind and creative clarity. An individual attuned with oneself; their strengths, personal blocks, insecurities, limiting beliefs and with a toolkit to navigate them. This is an exciting person to work and create with!

A healthy body and settled nervous system is natural intelligence and creativity in motion, at its finest. The buzz of adrenaline can be exciting and seemingly full of energy, however from personal experience it does not last long and can leave us depleted.

I therefore invite you to take time for your body. Begin a conversation. Dive deep, nourish and invest. As a dancer I used to think I knew my body, and in many ways I did. But this work, the slowing down and really tuning in, allowed a deepening and understanding that surpassed my wildest imagination.

To be fully awake and akin with oneself is a potent place to create from

and

something wild and beautiful to behold.
